Role Overview:

We’re looking for a Freelance Community Manager to help build an engaged and welcoming community around our studio titles. In this role, you’ll manage day-to-day activity on platforms like Bluesky, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, and Discord—planning and posting content, responding to comments, and keeping the community buzzing. You’ll also act as a bridge between the dev team and our players: sharing updates, celebrating fan creativity, and listening to feedback.

This is a collaborative freelance role where you’ll work closely with the Marketing team to shape our studio’s online presence, support ongoing campaign plans, and grow a thriving, supportive fan community.

Let’s get the important stuff out of the way: 

  • Position: Freelance (~2-4 hours a day, 5 days a week)

  • Starting Date: November 2025

  • Location: Remote (PST working hours)

What you’ll do:

  • Create 2-3 pieces of short-form video content per week, promoting our current titles and the studio at large

  • Create copy for text-based platforms like Twitter, Bluesky, and Reddit

  • Monitor, listen, and engage with the social media community on Discord and other platforms

  • Liaise with the Marketing Lead to ensure content fits the marketing strategy and engages our key target markets

  • Post, manage, and track content on various platforms

You Might Be a Fit If You...

  • A passion for social media and a finger on the pulse of what’s “trending” on various platforms

  • A familiarity with the indie gaming community and an understanding of what makes games shine on social media

    • Bonus: past experience creating content for cozy games and roguelikes

  • Experience - whether in a formal role or in personal projects - of moderating and engaging on Discord and Reddit

  • Video editing skills in Capcut, Adobe Premiere, or Davinci Resolve

  • Photo editing skills in Photoshop, Canva, or other editing softwares

  • Are looking for a sustainable, thoughtful work culture with high creative standards

  • Are able to and work autonomously and create content with general parameters and premade assets

  • Are able to grasp the purpose of your role in respects to overarching project goals (seeing the bigger picture)

Nice-to-Haves:

  • Experience running social media for an indie game studio or as a gaming content creator

  • Proven track record of creating “viral” or successful content on TikTok and/or Instagram

  • Experience working with Content Management Systems (e.g Buffer, Hootsuite, etc.) for scheduling and planning content

  • An interest or experience in B2B marketing on social media on platforms like LinkedIn or Twitter

  • Familiarity with the following pieces of software:

    • Slack

    • Coda

    • Figma
